Old and the new..

Do you love mixing the old and the new? When I say old with the new I’m not talking about retired products, I’m talking about Stampin’ Up!s Annual Catalogue. It can get kinda forgotten about when we have a new catalogue that is released, like Stampin’ Up!s 2021 Holiday Mini Catalogue. I like looking through both catalogues and seeing what I can merge together that complements each other and I think I have found the perfect two that do just that. The Birds and Branches stamp set and matching dies from the Annual catalogue and the Happy Holly-Days stamp set from the 2021 Holiday mini Catalogue.

I created this tag pictured below using the bird from the Happy Holly-Days stamp set water coloured using my water painter brushes with Pacific Point, Cajun Craze, night of Navy and white craft ink. I just love how the bird looks like a little blue bird.

To create the nest I used the nest stamp from the Birds & Branches stamp set. I stamped the nest in Soft Suede Ink on Crumb Cake card stock and used the matching dies to cut it out. For the little eggs I stamped on Crumb Cake card stock with Crumb Cake ink stamped off, I then stamped the egg image again in Craft white ink to give it that shell appearance.

The leaves are also form a new Bundle called Gorgeous Leaves. I die cut some of them out using some of the old (not really that old 😉) paper out of the Annual Catalogue called Beauty Of The Earth and others out of just card stock stamping the blotchy stamp over them from the Gorgeous Leaves stamp set. Don’t they just work wonderful together.

If you love any of the products I have used to create this card I have listed them below but you can also check them out at my online store click the button below.

Happy crafting ✂️
