As we hit winter with cold temperatures and no flowers out in our garden. I thought I would bring a little sunshine into my craft studio by the way of sun flowers. The Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set from Stampin’ Up! did just that. With the huge sunflower stamp, I have coloured in the image using water brushes to add shading and highlighting. I also used the Wink of Stella Glitter brush for accenting, as if the sun was glistening down on the flower to give it a bit of shine.
I added the highlights to the sunflower with a water brush and some Whisper White craft ink which is rich, permanent pigment ink that is great for putting a little bit of white on your stamped images. It is also great for embossing or for creating an opaque look on dark card stock. I would recommended adding a little at a time and build up the colour, remember you can always add but you can not take off.. 😉
Along with the matching dies called Sunflowers Dies, cutting the sunflower out was really easy, so easy that I made thirteen of these cards for one of our team swaps. A team swap is where people sign up, and they make a number of the same card and send them out to different people, in this case I sent out twelve (I kept one for my self…shhh..) and I will receive twelve different cards back. It’s a great way to see different peoples designs and ideas. It’s also great to receive happy mail rather than just bills.
The Designer series paper that I used on this card was from the Flowers For Every Season which matches perfectly with the sunflower. It has all the new In Colours from the 2020-2021 range. The card base for this card is one of those In Colours called Cinnamon Cider, which I have paired with the great new embossing folder called Old World paper which looks like I have screwed the paper up and tried to flatten it out again..🤪
I hope you like my card and the bonus of the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set and die is that it comes in a bundle which is great because you get an instant 10% of the purchase price. WOW… All the products that I have used in this card are listed below. If you would like to purchase any of the products below make sure you head to my store here..Bec’s House Of Craft online store
